Earth Day 2012
Earth Day 2012 is this Sunday, April 22nd, and there’s plenty of opportunity to take part!
With the theme “Mobilize the Earth,” the Earth Day Network aims to inspire people around the world to get involved and remind those in office that the current and future state of our planet is in the hands of everyone.
There is also a new campaign this year called A Billion Acts of Green®, which gives anyone an immediate chance to make a green pledge and make a difference:
With hundreds of millions of actions to date, Earth Day Network’s A Billion Acts of Green® campaign – the largest environmental service campaign in the world – is steadily building commitments by individuals, organizations, businesses and governments in honor of Earth Day.
The goal is to register one billion actions in advance of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) happening in Rio de Janeiro in June 2012.
