Olive & Sinclair Southern Artisan Chocolate is made in, what owner/chocolatier Scott Witherow describes as, the “new old-fashioned way”. His original inspiration was grits. If corn could be ground into tasty bits with the machines that were available to him, why not cocoa beans? That turned out to be a bit simplistic. So, he got the right machines and began to produced some of the best chocolate we’ve ever tasted.

His flavors, including Salt & Pepper, Double Chocolate Nibs, Mexican-Style Cinn-Chili, Sea Salt and Buttermilk White are consistently strong and well defined. His latest concoction is Smoked Nib Brittle (currently a personal favorite) and is made with O&S cacao nibs smoked in Mr. Allan Benton’s wood stove smokehouse at Benton’s Smoky Mountain Country Hams outside of Nashville. Imagine chocolate with a hammy, bacon-y finish from the smokehouse. Yessiree.
